The Need for ACT Test Preparation
In a world where education is everything, shouldn’t our kids have access to the best of the best? These are some of the ways ACT test preparation can positively affect your student’s ability to succeed:
- Acceptance into better schools
- Eligibility for merit-based financial aid and scholarships
- Testing out of introductory and remedial college courses
- Success in reading-intensive college classes
- Work/life balance due to above average productivity in the workplace
Considering the benefits, the onetime fee associated with unlimited ACT test preparation classes with ACT Up Speed Reading seems a worthy investment. But how do you know if you’re choosing the right teachers? Next, read about the difference between traditional ACT test preparation and speed reading.
Not Enough Time to Finish
Reading at the average WPM, high school students need a minimum of four hours to comfortably finish the ACT test. Unfortunately for them, the test is written to require 100 WPM higher than the average. To top it all off, the test only allows students a three-hour window for completion. We know; it sounds impossible. But for a test with such a heavy bearing on a student’s future, the specialists at ACT Up Speed Reading knew they had to find a way to make the impossible possible.
The solution was simple. It required a new method of ACT test preparation that would allow students the opportunity to finish the test without filling in random bubbles when time was up. If they could read faster, they would score higher. Our dedicated program writer, Liz Kearney, worked hard to develop a program that not only helped students increase their reading speed, but retain comprehension.
